Jerónimo Martins launches new edition of Trainee Programme in Portugal

The Jerónimo Martins Group has just launched a new edition of its Trainee Programme in Portugal. The initiative is an opportunity for young talents to enjoy an immersive experience, combining training in the Group's various business areas with the development of leadership skills.

Applications are now open and are aimed at students with a master’s degree already or being completed, preferably in the areas of Management, Hotel Management, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Technology, and fluent in Portuguese and English. The new edition of the Trainee Programme will start in early January 2026.

The recruitment process consists of four stages: online application, an online assessment to evaluate skills and English language proficiency, a business-related group challenge and interview, and finally a selection panel with business leaders.

During the first year, designed to promote participants’ self-awareness and assess the cultural fit between them and the Group, trainees develop two projects with the support of tutors in different functional areas, according to their individual preferences and the Companies’ needs. The second year gives participants an immersive experience in the retail business and access to a mentor. The programme provides all participants with several opportunities to meet with the Group's senior management, allowing them to share their career expectations and immediately influence their path within the organisation.  All details about this Jerónimo Martins Group programme are available here.
