  • Ranked 47th in Deloitte’s Global Powers of Retailing 2023. 
  • Listed in over 130 international sustainability indices, recognising our commitment to implementing good environmental, social and governance practices. 
  • CDP (Disclosure Insight Action) awarded us the highest grade (A) in the Climate programme and (A-) in the Forest and Water programmes, making us the highest rated food retailer in the world. 
  • Since 2021 that we have the Inclusive Employer Brand distinction, awarded by the Portuguese Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP); in 2023 we climbed to the Excelence level.

Biedronka/Jerónimo Martins Polska

  • First place in the retail category and second place among the most important Polish companies from all sectors in Rzeczpospolita’s List 2,000 ranking (2023 edition). 
  • Food & Retail Award 2023, for being a market leader in Poland, identifying consumer needs and offering solutions and services in a wide range of areas.  
  • Business Insider Polska Award, for fighting inflation and creating opportunities for the consumers to save money, like the platform Biedronkowe Oszczędności (Biedronka Savings) and the promotional campaign “Facts count. Everyday low prices are only at Biedronka”. 
  • Recognition by Warsaw University of Life Sciences – honorary badge given by the Rector of the University. 
  • Polityka Golden CSR Leaf, as a recognition for its progress in the accomplishment of its sustainable development strategy.  
  • Benefactor of the Year 2023 – a joint distinction given to Biedronka and Biedronka Foundation, for helping Ukraine and the Ukrainian refugees in Poland 
  • Golden Award for the “Polish Red Cross Health Olympiad with Biedronka” programme, in Leaders of ESG contest organised by Warsaw Stock Exchange and PwC Poland.

  • Consumers Trust Recommended Brand 2023 in the Supermarkets – Large Retail category. 
  • ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification awarded to Pingo Doce’s two central kitchens in Aveiro and Odivelas by APCER (Portuguese Certification Association). 
  • CORE “Sustainable Production and Consumption” Award, promoted by Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics.

  • Hebe application received a special prize at Mobile Trends Awards 2022 in M-Commerce category for digital accessibility, the most important award for companies using mobile technologies in their activities.
  • Awarded “The Service Quality Star 2023” in the 16th edition of the customer satisfaction survey organised by Polish Service Quality Program, in cooperation with experts from SecretClient®.
  • Awarded in Best on mobile category in the E-commerce Polska Awards 2023 organised by the Chamber of Electronic Economy.

  • International Featured Standard (IFS) Food v8 certification achieved in 2023. 
  • ISO 45001:2019 OSH (Occupational Health and Safety) certification since 2022. 
  • HALAL certification since 2021. 
  • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental certification from 2021. 
  • Organic production from 2021 (EU Regulation 2018/848 on organic production and labelling of organic products). 
  • Welfair ™ animal welfare certification from 2020. 


  • Welfare Quality certification in animal welfare in chicken production (from 2022), sheep (from 2021), dairy farming (from 2021) and beef fattening (from 2019).
  • Certification in animal welfare, prudent use of antibiotics and responsible use of antibiotics in beef and dairy farming since 2020.
  • Certification in antibiotic-free production since 2022 for chickens (since birth) and since 2021 for beef cattle (since last milk drink).


  • Global Gap certification for seabream production on the island of Madeira (in 2023).

  • Global Gap certification for organic seedless grape production (in 2023).
