For the fourth year in a row, Jerónimo Martins is part of a select group of companies worldwide awarded with the highest score for their practices in the fight against climate change. In addition to the actions developed throughout 2024, the distinction recognises transparent reporting.
The annual assessment carried out by CDP awarded Jerónimo Martins the top score (A) in Climate Change and the leadership level (A-) both in Water Security and in managing the commodities most associated with deforestation risk (Forests): palm oil, paper and timber, cattle and soy.
These results reflect the Jerónimo Group’s best environmental management and preservation practices, which, together with its contributions to economic prosperity and social development, have been recognised internationally with inclusion in more than 140 sustainability indices, among which Eurozone120, Europe 120, Sustainable Europe 120 and Climate Europe, Euronext indices, FTSE4Good Developed, CPR AssetManagement and various Solactive indices.
CDP is a non-profit organisation that encourages companies and cities to measure and manage environmental and climate change opportunities and risks. Each year, the CDP collects information through its ‘climate change’, ‘forests’ and ‘water security’ questionnaires. In 2024, the assessment encompassed more than 22,000 companies across the globe, which represent two thirds of global market capitalisation.
