Jerónimo Martins is one of the 100 best companies in the world for workplace Diversity and Inclusion

The Jerónimo Martins Group has been included in the FTSE Diversity & Inclusion Index – Top 100, a benchmark index that highlights listed companies with the best performance in promoting diverse and inclusive workplaces.

The Jerónimo Martins Group ranks 46th in the world and is the only Portuguese company, as well as the only company in the ‘supermarkets and convenience stores’ category’, to be included in this index, which analyses more than 15,500 listed companies worldwide that are part of indices such as the S&P 500, ASX300, MSCI World, MSCI Emerging Markets, FTSE100 or Bovespa.

FTSE Diversity & Inclusion Index’s – Top 100 methodology is based on the collection of 24 indicators from 4 pillars – Diversity, Inclusion, People Development and Controversies – using public information and a team of more than 700 analysts. The 100 best-ranked companies are selected for the index and organised according to their overall Diversity and Inclusion score, on a scale of 0 to 100 points. The Jerónimo Martins Group achieved a score of 74.25 points.

Among the indicators analysed are, for example, the existence of support services for employees' children, such as day-care nurseries in Portugal, the existence of policies that contribute for work-life balance, the percentage of women in management positions and the percentage of employees with disabilities.

The Jerónimo Martins Group’s inclusion policies have received national and international distinctions. Since 2021, the Jerónimo Martins Group’s holding has been awarded as Inclusive Employer Entity Brand by the Portuguese Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), reaching the Excellence level in 2023. Recheio Cash & Carry has also held the Inclusive Employer Entity Brand since 2021 and Pingo Doce has had this distinction since 2023.

The Incluir Programme was awarded in the first edition of the European Commerce Awards, by EuroCommerce, as the best practice in the Qualification and Inclusion category.

More recently, the World Economic Forum also distinguished the Incluir Program as one of eight case-studies featured in the “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lighthouses 2025 Insight Report”, which reveals business initiatives with a major social impact developed around the world.
