Voluntary Agreement for Zero Deforestation in the Colombian Palm Oil Chain
The Voluntary Agreement for Zero Deforestation in the Colombian Palm Oil Chain is a treaty promoted through the global initiative Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA 2020), established in 2012 and joined by the Colombian Government in 2016, to fight deforestation linked to palm oil production in the country. It is supported by several civil society organisations, including Proforest and WWF. The Group has been a signatory of the agreement since May 2021 through Ara.

SGD ALLIANCE PORTUGAL
Established by the Global Compact Network Portugal in 2015 and grounded in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, the SDG Alliance Portugal, of which we are founding members, brings together the business sector, civil society, and the public sector to enhance communication between companies and stakeholders and create conditions for the development of new projects within the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Carbon neutral alliance
The Carbon Neutral Alliance (Alianza Carbono Neutralidad) is an initiative of the Colombian Government that seeks to energise, strengthen and make visible the management of greenhouse gas emissions in public and private organisations, aiming to promote a sustainable, low-carbon development.

BCSD Portugal
BCSD Portugal – the Business Council for Sustainable Development – is a non-profit organisation that brings together and represents companies from a wide range of sectors, all actively committed to sustainable development.

Business for Nature
Business for Nature is a global coalition bringing together civil society, organisations and businesses to reverse nature loss. This initiative calls on governments to adopt five major recommendations to accelerate business action by aligning policies and transforming economic and financial systems.

Business for Societal Impact (B4SI)
Since its founding in 1994, B4SI has grown from six founding firms to a global network of more than 150 organisations. Through a framework for impact management, B4SI enables companies to account for social impact with the same discipline as any other part of business performance.

CDP - Disclosure Insight Action
CDP – Disclosure Insight Action (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit organisation that encourages investors, companies and cities to measure and manage the risks and opportunities of environmental impacts. Jerónimo Martins answers CDP's Climate Change, Water Security and Forests questionnaires each year.

The Agri-Food Code
The EU Code of Conduct on Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices –known as the Agri-Food Code – is one of the first deliverables of the Farm to Fork Strategy. It outlines voluntary actions that actors such as food processors, food service operators and retailers can commit to improve and communicate their sustainability performance.

EuroCommerce
EuroCommerce is the leading European organisation representing retail and wholesale. These sectors connect producers with over 450 million consumers, employ 26 million people, and create opportunities for both small suppliers and global businesses. EuroCommerce brings together national associations in 28 countries, representing around 6 million companies – from multinationals to family-owned businesses.

European Climate Pact
The European Climate Pact, part of the European Green Deal, invites individuals, communities and organisations to join climate action. Launched by the European Commission, it supports the EU’s goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050 through awareness campaigns and promoting sustainable consumption and production solutions.

Responsible business forum (poland)
The Responsible Business Forum (Forum Odpowiedzialnego Biznesu) is Poland’s most recognised non-governmental organisation, addressing the concept of corporate responsibility in a comprehensive manner. Operating since 2000, it has developed and established partnerships in critical social responsibility undertakings.

GLOBALG.A.P.
GLOBALG.A.P. provides smart farm assurance standards for safe, responsible agriculture, aquaculture and floriculture. Backed by a strict integrity program and more than 430 partner organisations, it equips producers to adopt sustainable practices, achieve certification, meet market demands and support global sustainability goals.

Global Food Safety Initiative
The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) collaborates with the world’s leading consumer goods companies, across borders and barriers to help ensure safe food for people everywhere. GFSI is an Industry Solution of the The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), bringing together food retailers and manufacturers from across the CGF membership.

GRACE
The GRACE – Grupo de Reflexão e Apoio à Cidadania Empresarial (Group of Reflection and Support for Business Citizenship) is a Portuguese non-profit organization comprised of companies from various sectors. GRACE promotes the development of Social and Corporate Responsibility initiatives.

LEAN & GREEN
The Lean & Green European platform promotes reducing greenhouse gas emissions in logistics. Operating in 15 countries, it engages with over 600 companies – including Biedronka, Pingo Doce and Terra Alegre – to advance sustainable transport practices.

Water management pact (portugal)
The Water Management Pact (Pacto para Gestão da Água), an initiative by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, brings together Portuguese companies and organisations to raise awareness and implement measures that promote sustainable water management.

Braga business mobility pact
The Braga Business Mobility Pact (Pacto de Mobilidade Empresarial de Braga), promoted by BCSD Portugal and Braga Municipality, fosters sustainable mobility through concrete actions by participating companies. It aims to reduce carbon footprints, share knowledge on green mobility, and encourage collaboration among businesses, local organisations and institutions.

Portuguese plastics pact
The Portuguese Plastics Pact is a collaborative platform that brings together different actors across the plastics value chain, such as government, producers, retailers, recycling entities, universities, NGOs and associations. Led by Smart Waste Portugal, its goal is to develop solutions that accelerate the transition to a circular plastics economy in Portugal.

The Plastics Pact in Colombia is a collaborative initiative that unites businesses, government, academia and NGOs to accelerate the transition to a circular plastics economy in the country. We participate in the Pact through Ara.

Polish Coalition for Sustainable Palm Oil
The Polish Coalition for Sustainable Palm Oil (PKZOP) is a multi-stakeholder initiative that brings together members from the private sector (including the food, cosmetics, and retail industries), certification bodies, and NGOs. Its goal is to achieve 100% sustainably certified palm oil in Poland by 2030.

Polish plastics pact
The Polish Plastics Pact is an initiative that brings together companies and organisations related to the plastics value chain to work together to close the loop of plastic packaging in Poland. It aims to tackle plastic packaging waste and pollution in Poland.

New Plastics Economy Global Commitment
Led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme, the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment is an initiative that unites more than 1,000 companies, governments and other organisations behind a common vision and shared goals to tackle plastic waste and plastic pollution at its source.

Roadmap for the decarbonisation of the distribution sector (portugal)
The Roadmap for the Decarbonisation of Distribution is an initiative by APED (Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies) that aims to support member companies in addressing the challenges of climate change, working towards the decarbonisation of the sector in Portugal by 2040.

Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS)
The Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS), founded in Zurich in 2006, promotes responsible soy production, trade and use. It fosters multistakeholder dialogue and drives climate-conscious practices through a certification standard, engaging all actors in the soy value chain to ensure sustainability and accountability.

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)
RSPO is a global, non-profit organisation with a voluntary membership base. It brings together stakeholders from all across the palm oil value chain such as producers, processors, traders, retailers, consumer goods manufacturers and NGOs to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.

Smart Waste Portugal
Smart Waste Portugal is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to create a nationwide platform that leverages waste as a resource throughout the value chain. The association brings together more than 150 members from the waste sector, industry, academia and trade associations.

The Consumer Goods Forum
The Consumer Goods Forum is a global network uniting retailers and producers to drive positive change in fast-moving consumer goods, focusing on sustainability, health, food safety and traceability. Jerónimo Martins is part of several multistakeholder coalitions: Forest Positive, Human Rights – Working to End Forced Labour, Plastic Waste, Collaboration for Healthier Lives, Product Data and Global Food Safety.

Tropical Forest Alliance
The Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA) aims to support the private sector in removing commodity-driven deforestation from supply chains. It works on Forest Positive jurisdictional and multistakeholder initiative concepts, fostering collaboration between producer and consumer countries to reduce deforestation linked to the production of key commodities in their regions – Latin America, Africa, South Asia, China and Europe.

United Nations Global Compact
The UN Global Compact supports companies in aligning strategies with the 10 Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Through local networks, members share experiences and foster collective progress. Jerónimo Martins participates in Portugal’s network, while Biedronka is part of Poland’s.

We Mean Business
We Mean Business is a coalition of organisations that collaborate to help solving the climate crises. As a common platform, it aims to give voice to companies, catalyse action for change and develop innovative policies to transform society into a low carbon economy.
